Sun River Health is currently seeking a part-time Dentist to join our team at our Yonkers, NY site.

A Dentist provides dental care to patients by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, along with other duties as assigned. The role requires compliance with system and job-specific standards.

Essential Responsibilities and

Job Duties:

Oversees dental team at the site, including D&S oversight, weekly order oversight, and staff guidance on equipment repairs. Attends staff, departmental, and leadership meetings, and coordinates with HCD, DDO, CDO on dental operations issues.

Performs root canal therapy on anterior and other teeth within the dentist's skill set.

Reviews findings from full-mouth periodontal exams to diagnose periodontal disease and develop treatment plans.

Prepares for dentures and crowns by taking impressions and models of jaws and teeth.

Consults with other healthcare providers to plan appropriate dental treatments, considering behavioral and medical issues.

Extracts infected or diseased teeth.

Provides preventive dentistry counseling, including oral hygiene, nutritional status, and anticipatory guidance, with or without a dental hygienist.

Locates and repairs cavities, discussing findings with radiographs to formulate treatment plans.

Conducts comprehensive oral examinations, including oral cancer screening, tobacco use screening, caries detection, periodontal exams, and oral pathology assessments, documenting findings in Open Dental and electronic medical records.

Minimum Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Education Requirement:

Master’s Degree

Minimum Licensure/Certification/Registration:

D.D.S or D.M.D. from an accredited dental school
New York State License
CPR/BLS Certification

Preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Specialty board certification

Skills & Knowledge:

Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.

Salary Range: $87.31 - $95.49/hour
