Youth Counselor

Westhab, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Youth Counselor to deliver engaging academic, enrichment, recreational, and leadership development programming for youth in a Positive Youth Development context. The role fosters growth, learning, safety, and hope.

• Responsible for the wellbeing of a group of participating youth (5‑12 years) throughout program hours and ensures safety during all program activities.

• Provides academic instruction supporting the school day curriculum with a focus on literacy and STEM.

• Leads enrichment, recreation, and leadership development programs designed to increase self‑esteem and teach life skills.

• Attends weekly team meetings, training sessions, parent meetings, and other assigned meetings to market the program and report on outcomes.

• Responds to emergency situations such as fire drills, evacuations, shelter in place, lockdowns, etc.

• Escorts children to activities within the building and in the community as needed.

• Maintains facilities, disinfecting rooms, equipment, light cleaning, etc.

• Distributes snacks and program supplies (workbooks, technology, art supplies).

• Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of direct after school program delivery experience are required; a college diploma is preferred.

High energy, dynamic personality and genuine passion for youth are essential.

Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs as needed.
