Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Manager oversees the administration of complex mass tort settlement programs and mass arbitration matters and independently manages multiple matters and work streams. The role serves as a primary point of coordination among clients, internal teams, vendors, counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient program administration.

  • Oversee case set-up and implementation of mass tort settlement programs and mass arbitration matters, including workflows, claimant intake, reporting, and program-specific procedures.
  • Manage client relationships through clear communication, appropriate expectation-setting, and timely completion of milestones and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with counsel, internal teams, vendors, lien-resolution providers, arbitration providers and other stakeholders, as applicable, to support effective program administration.
  • Review and apply settlement agreements, court orders, arbitration protocols, eligibility criteria, allocation methodologies, and other governing documents.
  • Oversee claimant and mass arbitration demand intake and review processes, including eligibility, deficiencies and cures, releases, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate the processing, deduplication, reconciliation, and analysis of large volumes of claimant, claimant demand and project data and prepare accurate reports.
  • Manage mass arbitration inventories and workflows, including claimant rosters, demand status, filing activity, arbitration fees, deadlines, settlements, dismissals, and other matter-specific activity.
  • Coordinate mass arbitration filing and administration requirements, including preparation and tracking of required data and documentation, filing deadlines, fee schedules, and communications with counsel and arbitration providers.
  • Implement claim review, categorization, allocation, and payment procedures consistent with governing settlement documents and approved program requirements.
  • Identify, elevate, and resolve issues involving claimant data, documentation, eligibility, calculations, liens, releases, or distributions.
  • Monitor claimant inventories, program status, deadlines, exceptions, and settlement distribution activity, including payment reconciliation and exception resolution.
  • Track mass arbitration resolutions and settlement activity, including individual and aggregate settlements, payment status, outstanding requirements, and matter reconciliation.
  • Maintain project documentation and provide timely status reporting to clients and leadership, including key milestones, risks, arbitration activity, resource needs, and escalated issues.
  • Monitor project expenses and client invoicing; protect confidential claimant information; and maintain a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and accountability.
  • Perform other project-related responsibilities as assigned and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
Experience and Skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience required.
  • 3+ years of mass tort, mass arbitration, complex claims administration, class action administration, legal operations, or comparable project management experience preferred.
  • Project management experience required, including experience managing multiple concurrent matters, deadlines, stakeholders, and client relationships.
  • Experience working with large claimant populations, complex datasets, claims administration, settlement programs, litigation support, or related legal/claims operations preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret, reconcile, and report on complex claimant and project data.
  • Ability to interpret settlement documents and program requirements and translate them into operational processes.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, quality-control, and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, counsel, vendors, claimants, and internal teams.
