Job OverviewThe Quality Control (QC) Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies meet strict quality, safety, and engineering standards. This position is hands‑on, highly detail‑oriented, and essential to maintaining production integrity. The ideal candidate is skilled in precision measurement, confident interpreting engineering drawings, and committed to accuracy throughout all phases of inspection.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections on mechanical and structural parts, equipment, and completed assemblies to verify compliance with quality and engineering specifications.
- Perform visual inspections and dimensional checks using a variety of precision tools, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Identify and document non‑conformances, defects, or deviations; ensure corrective actions are properly communicated and executed.
- Verify that components are installed correctly according to drawings, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to perform accurate inspections.
- Maintain clear, detailed inspection records, including measurement data, findings, and required documentation.
- Support in‑process, first‑article, and final inspections with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and uphold quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety rules, company policies, and quality procedures within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of quality control inspection experience within a manufacturing, machining, mechanical assembly, or related industrial environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T concepts.
- Proficiency with precision measurement instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
- Ability to perform metric and standard measurements; metric familiarity preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document inspection results with clarity and accuracy.
- Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
- Comfortable working independently while supporting overall production goals.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
