Job Description

Ultra Intelligence and Communications (I&C), Inc., established in 2022 as a spin‑off from the Ultra Electronics Group, is a leading U.S.‑based company specializing in multi‑domain battlefield management. The company offers vital intelligence and communication solutions to empower modern warfighters and national‑security decision makers. Ultra I&C operates through three main business units in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The Director of Security and Facility Security Officer (FSO) will be based in Austin, TX, and will serve as FSO for the Austin site while overseeing security officers and personnel in San Diego, Tampa, Montreal, and the UK.

The role reports to the Executive Leadership Team and includes the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the FSO for the Austin, TX site and manage the facility’s industrial security program.
  • Provide leadership to security officers and staff in Austin, San Diego, Tampa, Montreal, and the UK.
  • Act as primary point of contact for personnel security matters with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
  • Serve as the Insider Threat Program Special Officer (ITPSO).
  • Provide guidance to employees and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures across all sites.
  • Manage security aspects of U.S. Government classified programs.
  • Interface with prime contractors and government customers on security issues.
  • Prepare and maintain all documentation required for a Facility Clearance.
  • Perform maintenance in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Prepare and review DD‑254s to ensure adherence to classified programs.
  • Provide quarterly reporting and security activity overview to the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness program for clear‑and‑non‑cleared personnel.
  • Monitor physical and electronic communications for compliance with the Electronics Communication Monitoring Plan (ECMP) and Technology Control Plan (TCP).
  • Respond to emergency alarm calls during off‑hours.
  • Investigate and report security violations and incidents, working with program managers and management to develop corrective actions.
  • Conduct required self‑inspections and correct security deficiencies.
  • Process visit requests for personnel and international visit requests.
  • Keep security knowledge current through training, meetings, and memberships.
  • Assist the ISSM and ISSO on classified information systems.
  • Generate and report monthly security metrics.
  • Supervise the security team.
Required Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Facility Security Officer (FSO) Certification.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive training in industrial security, including DCSA FSO courses, information security, insider threat, operations security, personnel security, physical security, cybersecurity, and counterintelligence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing and influencing geographically dispersed security teams.
  • Ability to coordinate corporate directives among multiple FSOs.
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its implementation.
  • Knowledge of CUI, ITAR, and EAR regulations.
  • Experience interfacing with DCSA, government customers, and executive management.
  • Ability to understand, explain, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of DISS, NISS, eMASS, and eQIP.
  • In‑depth knowledge of NISPOM / 32
