Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate ASU/PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Maine. This is a full-time role (36 hours per week), working four 9-hour day shifts with a weekend call rotation.
The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, excellent post-anesthesia care skills, and the ability to provide safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced recovery setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care and monitoring for surgical patients
- Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure optimal recovery outcomes
- Assess and document patient condition and vital signs accurately
- Respond effectively to emergencies and rapidly changing situations
- Participate in weekend call rotation as assigned
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Maine or Compact)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including 1+ year in ASU or PACU
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (required)
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Shift Details
- Schedule: 4×9-hour day shifts per week
- Call: Weekend call rotation
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Holiday Coverage: Not required
