York General is launching a new and evolving Hospitalist Program and is seeking a Hospitalist - Physician Assistant (PA-C) to help shape and grow this innovative service. This unique role offers the opportunity to provide inpatient hospitalist coverage while also supporting Family Medicine's Quick Clinic services as needed. Schedule:
Primarily overnight shifts, likely 6:00 PM - 8:00 AM (14 hours). As this is a new program, schedules and coverage needs may evolve over time.

What You'll Do
As a Hospitalist Physician Assistant, you'll work closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing hospitalized patients through admissions, daily rounding, care coordination, and discharge planning
- Responding to clinical needs of assigned inpatients during hospitalist coverage
- Performing comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions
- Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Ordering diagnostic tests and prescribing medications in accordance with scope of practice
- Educating patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive health
- Accurately documenting care within the electronic health record
- Assisting with Family Medicine's Quick Clinic coverage as organizational needs evolve
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current Nebraska PA-C licensure and NCCPA certification
- Prescriptive authority in accordance with Nebraska regulations
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Experience in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Inpatient/Hospitalist care preferred
