FG Air’s filter offering includes panel, pleated and mini‑pleated filters that focus on the highest minimum‑efficiency‑reporting values ratings and high‑efficiency‑particulate‑absorbing requirements.

We are a world leader in creating true HEPA filters and gas‑phase filters and have partnered with several companies to produce OEM filter solutions.

We are seeking a Production Manager at our York, SC facility. This role is responsible for the administration and efficient operation of the facility in accordance with company policy, coordinating activities so that people, machines and raw materials are assembled to ensure timely and safe production of high‑quality finished goods, and maintaining a high level of employee morale at the lowest possible cost.

The major portion of the job is to give direction to, guide, and develop immediate staff and all facility personnel, fostering teamwork, safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day management of hourly employees including shipping & receiving and production.
  • Initiate, create and administer plans and policies in support of the company’s strategies relative to production, safety, quality/continuous improvement, service, cost, and inventory.
  • Monitor the execution of the master production schedule to ensure satisfaction of all customer needs while optimizing overall manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Establish and develop proactive communication channels with external customers, suppliers, internal departments, and associates.
  • Foster teamwork between shifts through open communications and collaboration.
  • Expand the application of employee involvement processes including work redesign, empowerment, and quality and productivity improvement teams consistent with the owner’s principles and values.
  • Pursue employee development through training, empowerment and recognition, ensuring adequate cross‑training for workforce flexibility.
  • Use lean manufacturing principles for facility performance against specific goals and motivate employees to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental and facility procedures in areas including GMP, safety, ergonomics, and security.
  • Manage relevant initiatives such as capital projects, new product introductions, supplier partnerships, computer system enhancements, employee diversity and succession planning.
  • Ensure that all finished goods are manufactured in accordance with facility standards and specifications.
  • Organize, train and direct staff to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Advise the Plant Manager of scheduling concerns, customer service problems, overtime needs and quality obstacles.
  • Understand bill of materials of product and identify and reduce variations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area through proper safety training equipment and good housekeeping.
  • Review needs with Plant Manager for new equipment, change parts and fixtures to handle new products.
  • Position requires immediate decisions with limited information and rapid assimilation of facts to set new requirements or change from established systems/procedures.
  • Lead by example; understand that the overall policy statements and decisions directly impact service, inventory, product quality, safety, cost, staffing and continuous improvement processes.
  • Understand cost of poor quality through cause analysis. Process capability and Six Sigma methodology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in textiles, a technical or business discipline or a combination of related education and experience sufficient to effectively supervise our workforce and work process.
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience with at least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience, ideally in a cellular operation with a variety of products, able to manage and motivate people and lead by example.
