Job Summary
We are hiring immediately for full‑time COOK positions at Duke Catawba (4800 Concord Road, York, South Carolina 29745). This role is a full‑time, on‑site position with a variable schedule: 5:00 am to 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 12:00 am. Applications are accepted online only.
CompensationPay range: $17.00–$20.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Ensure quality food service is provided at all times.
- Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
- Serve meals or prepare food for delivery using correct portioning and ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
- Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain accurate records.
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and proper disposal of excess food.
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean, organized, and stocked according to standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
- Assist with ordering and receiving all food and supplies.
- Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
- Perform all duties safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
- Show personal commitment to safety for self and others.
- Abide by all company policies and procedures, including:
- Use medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning a slicer.
- Use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
- Use slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting technique.
