Management Accountant

As Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include producing the month end management accounts, performing/reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as any other ad-hoc projects.

• Manage the assistant management accountant to ensure month end is completed by the required deadlines.
• Ensure all 1-2-1’s and appraisals are completed for the team.
• Assist the FC in preparing the statutory accounts.
• Assist the FC in preparing the corporation tax computations for the Carnell Group.
• Assist the FC in the preparation of budgets.
• Prepare and post all month end journals and invoices for the Carnell Group by the required deadlines.
• Ensure the fixed asset register is regularly reviewed and items are only capitalised if in line with accounting standards.
• Ensure the stock listing is regularly reviewed and stock counts are been performed.
• Prepare and send to department heads their required month end spend reports (such as HR/Hotel spend/ Plant etc).
• Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring any risk is flagged to the financial controller.
• Assist with interim and year end audit queries.
