Sharp Consultancy is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Doncaster.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step in their career and gain further exposure across a broad range of accounting duties, whilst benefiting from a hybrid working pattern.
Working closely with the wider finance team, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the accounts function, supporting with month-end and ensuring the financial information is accurate and up to date.
Key responsibilities- Supporting with month-end processes and reporting
- Preparing and posting journals
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Accruals and prepayments
- Supporting with accounts payable and receivable
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies and queries
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
We're looking for someone with previous experience within an accounts or finance environment who is keen to develop their knowledge and take on more responsibility.
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant position
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience with reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
- Strong Excel skills
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to a wider finance team
- AAT study or a desire to progress with your accounting qualifications would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive finance team in Doncaster, offering a hybrid working pattern and salary of up to £35,000.
