Legal Cashier

Fantastic opportunity to join a York based firm in a Legal Cashiering role. You will be responsible for undertaking accounting and bookkeeping duties within the firm in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules. Experience required.

Accurate recording of financial transactions on the computerised accounts software and keeping the ledgers up to date.
Monitor incoming client funds on the banking portal and to allocate to the correct file.
Setting up and sending electronic payments (FP, Chaps and transfers).
Preparation and processing of cheques.
Checking and processing of bills.
Checking Conveyancing completion statements and Probate Estates.
Setting up Conveyancing completions ready for processing on completion day.
Dealing with accounts related enquiries and correspondence from all offices.
Bookkeeping and accounts maintenance in accordance with the SRA Accounts. Rules, Quality Procedures Manual and Lexcel/CQS requirements
Processing petty cash.
Stationery/toners ordering on request.
File closures.
Filing and other administrative jobs.
Maintaining the confidentiality and security of accounts information.
Compliance with SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Accounts Rules.
Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
Contribute to maintaining and improving office procedures.
Ensuring compliance with Equality and Diversity Policy.
Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm.
