Management Accountant

Permanent, full time. Hybrid, 3 days a week in the office.

I'm recruiting a qualified Management Accountant to take ownership of one part of a large business's numbers. If you like having your own set of accounts and being the person the operational teams come to, it's worth a look.

The finance work is contract based. A big part of the job is understanding where each piece of work stands and making sure revenue is recognised and invoiced at the right time. The team is established and well run.

• Your own set of monthly management accounts and the commentary that goes with them
• Sitting down with the operational teams each quarter to review where their contracts stand
• Work done but not yet invoiced: tracking it and getting it billed
• Balance sheet reconciliations, kept tidy and supported
• Year end audit support and controls testing
• Analysis when the business asks for it
• Possible coaching of a more junior accountant
• Improving and automating how the month end runs

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Management accounts experience, ideally with contract or project accounting
• Strong Excel
• Comfortable explaining the numbers to people outside finance
• Organised enough to manage your own deadlines and help others with theirs

It's a detailed role with a lot of reconciliation and contract work behind the monthly numbers. It suits someone who likes getting under the numbers and can explain them to people outside finance.
