Vehicle Suspension Mechanic

We are recruiting a Vehicle Suspension and Steering Mechanic on behalf of our client, a reputable accident repair centre located in York. This is an excellent Vehicle Suspension and Steering Mechanic opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dynamic team within a well-established organisation that prioritises quality and customer satisfaction. The Vehicle Suspension and Steering Mechanic will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of vehicle repair and safety.

• Competitive annual salary of up to £59,800, depending on experience and qualifications
• Full-time employment with Monday to Friday shifts

• Diagnose suspension and steering issues using diagnostic equipment and test drives
• Repair or replace worn suspension components such as shock absorbers, struts, and control arms
• Perform wheel alignment to manufacturer specifications for optimal vehicle handling
• Inspect and service steering systems, including power steering pumps, racks, and linkages
• Conduct routine maintenance, including lubrication and adjustments on suspension and steering parts
• Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure all issues have been resolved
• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with standards
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE

• Proven experience as a mechanic within an automotive repair environment
• In-depth knowledge of suspension and steering systems
• Strong understanding of ADAS systems
• Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle repair is desirable
• High attention to detail and meticulous working approach
• Ability to complete tasks efficiently within set time frames and to a high standard
• Capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
