Overview

We are a leading recruitment firm in the print, packaging and paper sectors. We have recently closed a vacancy for the Packaging Buyer role, which required strong communication skills, supply‑chain management, cost‑reduction expertise, and procurement competence.

• Day‑to‑day management of packaging requirements from multiple suppliers for new and existing products.
• Support sourcing initiatives and commodity strategies to identify suppliers, secure competitive pricing, and implement effective sourcing tactics.
• Manage strategy and bid process for packaging items, reviewing, analysing and coordinating supplier bids.
• Collaborate with internal departments on product development and packaging selection.
• Continuously improve procedures, monitor supplier performance, and resolve issues promptly.
• Create and implement cost‑reduction initiatives while maintaining high service and quality levels.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports, specifications, correspondence, and other written materials.

• Strong numeracy skills for evaluating, managing, and negotiating vendor costs, quality control, and distribution capabilities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage complex specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Resilience, determination, positive attitude, and confidence.
• Experience in packaging, print, or paper sectors, or a comparable supply‑chain role.
