Senior Steelwork Estimator — High-Value Structural & Architectural Steel Projects

Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Senior Steelwork Estimator to join our team and play a key role in winning and delivering major steelwork projects. This is a senior position where you'll lead the estimating function, shape commercial strategy at tender stage, and work closely with senior leadership, project teams, clients, and the supply chain.

• Leading the preparation of detailed, accurate cost estimates for steelwork projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Producing take-offs and material quantity calculations
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities & value engineering options
• Preparing and submitting tender documentation to tight deadlines
• Managing client PQQ submissions, ISO compliance, and accreditations (Achilles, Construction line)
• Supporting post-tender negotiations and handing projects over to delivery teams
• Maintaining estimating databases, rates, and cost benchmarks

• Proven experience as a Senior Steelwork Estimator (or similar)
• Strong technical knowledge of steel fabrication and erection
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
• High level of commercial awareness and risk management
• Proficient in estimating software and Excel
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines

• Experience working with main contractors and design teams
• Knowledge of UK construction standards and regulations
• Experience managing ISO accreditations, Achilles & Construction line
• Background in steel fabrication, engineering, or construction management
