We are looking for a proactive Works Co-ordinator to join our Field Operations team, supporting the delivery of overhead line construction, maintenance and refurbishment activities across our network.

In this varied role, you will coordinate resources, contractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, while maintaining excellent customer service and regulatory compliance.

Starting salary: £39,923, with progression to £51,396 (Ind L3 pp7-12)

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the safe delivery of overhead line projects, ensuring works are completed to agreed timescales, budget and quality standards.
  • Effectively manage internal resources, overhead line teams, contractors and service providers.
  • Plan and prioritise workloads to ensure efficient delivery of customer connections, network reinforcement, fault-driven works and refurbishment programmes.
  • Liaise with customers, landowners, local authorities and stakeholders to deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Support the delivery of overhead line construction, replacement and maintenance activities across the network.
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery, including resource planning, material requirements and programme management.
  • Carry out site visits and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures and contractual obligations.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective delivery solutions whilst maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate outage requirements and support operational planning activities.
  • Create and maintain electronic job packs and project documentation to support efficient delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, escalating risks and issues where necessary.
  • Support weekly operational and contractor performance meetings.
  • Process applications for payment and ensure accurate completion of project records.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to attend customer meetings and site visits, including occasional evening or weekend appointments where required.
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other business systems.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good understanding of overhead line construction and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and make effective decisions in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements associated with overhead line work.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with operational teams and contractors.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications & Attributes
  • Experience managing or coordinating overhead line, utility, construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Overhead line, electrical engineering or utility operations background.
  • Knowledge of LV and HV overhead electricity distribution networks.
  • Understanding of network operations, outage planning and permit-to-work processes.
  • Experience managing contractors and external service providers.
  • Knowledge of company systems such as CRM, QPID, iSMART or equivalent operational systems would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
