UK We are recruiting for an experienced Freelance Project Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to join a growing engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering major projects across the UK water and utilities sector . This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering £500 per day Outside IR35 , with the opportunity to work on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role would suit a Project Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience in the water, utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure or engineering sectors and strong knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts .

The Role As a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor , you will support the commercial delivery of water and wastewater projects from project handover through to final account. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, you will take responsibility for key areas of commercial management, cost control, procurement, forecasting, contract administration and change management .

Key Responsibilities Manage project commercial performance and cost control Prepare and submit applications for payment Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers Prepare monthly cost reports and commercial forecasts Monitor project budgets, expenditure and cash flow Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities Assist with change control, variations and compensation events Administer NEC3 / NEC4 contracts Support final accounts and commercial close-out Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation Work closely with Project Managers and operational teams Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders Requirements We are looking for a Freelance Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor with:
Minimum 2 years' Quantity Surveying or commercial experience

Experience with in water, utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering, construction or engineering Strong experience of cost control, reporting and forecasting Experience working under NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills Strong understanding of change management and commercial risk Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Previous freelance or contract experience is advantageous About the Company Our client is an established engineering and infrastructure contractor operating across the UK water and utilities sector.
