Quantity Surveyor, Civil Engineering
Galliford Try is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for infrastructure work in North Yorkshire and the East Riding, including highways and public-realm schemes. The appointment sits within its infrastructure commercial team. Responsibility includes subcontract packages from procurement through settlement of final accounts, with close working alongside operational staff throughout project delivery.
The surveyor will administer the main contract, prepare valuations and financial reports, and deal with changes. Subcontract responsibilities include payment assessments, contract changes and management of supplier performance. Work must follow the contract and the company's business procedures.
Commercial risks and opportunities are assessed with engineering and operational colleagues, with attention to programme and budget requirements. The role also maintains working relationships with customers and supply-chain partners. Applicants need NEC contract experience and a background in highways, public-realm works or other civil engineering projects.
Subcontractor management experience, a valid CSCS card and a professional qualification such as CICES or MRICS, or progress towards membership, are requested. The employer welcomes discussion of full-time, part-time or flexible arrangements during recruitment. No individual town is specified.
The details above are taken from the employer's own posting, read on 15-09-2026. Where the posting does not state something, this page says so rather than estimating it. SCCSI is not the employer, is not a recruitment agency and takes no part in the selection.
