Site Engineer

Our client is seeking a Site Engineer to support an NEC Supervisor on a highways and structures scheme. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to site-based infrastructure works, ensuring construction quality, compliance and accurate project records throughout the delivery period.

• Assist the NEC Supervisor with inspecting works on site to ensure compliance with contract specifications, drawings and quality management plans
• Identify, record and monitor non-conformances, defects and safety observations
• Prepare site inspection reports, daily site logs and other project documentation
• Carry out setting-out verification checks, dimensional control and level checks across highways, civil engineering and structures works
• Maintain accurate records of progress, site conditions and contractor resources
• Provide support with the identification and recording of potential early warnings under NEC contract guidelines
• Promote a safe working environment through routine safety inspections and site tours
• Ensure relevant health, safety and environmental procedures are followed on site

• Experience in site engineering within the highways, civil engineering, infrastructure or structures sectors
• Understanding of highways construction, site inspection and quality assurance processes
• Knowledge of setting out, dimensional control and level checking
• Awareness of NEC contract administration and early warning procedures
• Strong ability to maintain accurate site records and prepare clear reports
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements on construction sites
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, supervisors and project teams
• Valid CSCS card
