Commercial Building Surveyor

Location: South Yorkshire
Rate: £450 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 3 months
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days onsite

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Building Surveyor to join a South Yorkshire local authority on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor with a strong background in commercial refurbishments, capital works and property improvement projects, supporting the delivery of a varied portfolio of council-owned buildings and assets.

• Deliver building surveying services across refurbishment, alteration and capital works projects.
• Undertake building and condition surveys, producing detailed technical reports.
• Prepare technical specifications, AutoCAD drawings, cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Manage projects from inception through to completion, including contract administration and contractor supervision.
• Oversee works onsite, monitoring quality, budgets, programmes and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to Building Regulations, planning requirements, CDM Regulations 2015 and health and safety legislation.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.

• Proven commercial building surveying experience, particularly refurbishment and improvement works.
• Strong AutoCAD skills (essential);
  Revit experience desirable.
• Experience in contract administration, project management and site supervision.
• Sound knowledge of Building Regulations, asbestos, planning processes and CDM requirements.
• Experience producing technical drawings, specifications and condition reports.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
