Responsibilities
  • Book and carry out workplace assessments of Diploma in Dental Nursing learners within the required time period.
  • Communicate effectively with practice managers and learners.
  • Ensure the correct completion and submission of all assessment paperwork.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the learner and practice manager in a sensitive manner.
  • Prepare and support a small caseload of learners for EPA.
  • Conduct health & safety and equal opportunities vetting and monitoring of practice, and provide guidance where necessary.
  • Plan and prepare for each workplace assessment.
  • Remain current in skills and knowledge of the dental sector and legislative requirements, maintaining GDC registration.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Training or Assessing Qualification, or willingness to acquire.
  • Qualified Dental Nurse with a minimum of 2 years experience.
  • Enhanced DBS Check on the Update Service, or willingness for one to be completed.
  • Based in York or Hull to conduct workplace assessments.
  • Ability to plan work effectively and meet deadlines.
  • IT literate – effective use of MS Office.
  • Experience of assessing the Dental Diploma/Advance Apprenticeship (desirable).
  • Experience of working within work-based learning programmes (desirable).
