We have been assigned by one of the UK's most prestigious NHS Trusts to help recruit a Consultant in Cardiology on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Cardiology department
.
Our client is one of the leading interventional cardiology units in the United Kingdom, with a national and international profile for service, innovation, and research. They serve a regional population of 2.8 million in Yorkshire and perform over 1,000 primary PCI procedures annually, with around 2,300 PCI procedures in total. The trans-catheter valve intervention service, led by a renowned consultant, performs approximately 400 TAVI procedures annually.
A percutaneous mitral valve leaflet repair service is established and has recently received NHS commissioning approval.
Leeds is at the forefront of innovation, research, and education in trans-catheter valve intervention. The department includes 9 Yorkshire-based interventional cardiology consultants, with 3 providing the trans-catheter valve service supported by a Fellow and 3 Nurse Specialists. Additionally, 10 visiting coronary interventionists contribute to the PPCI rota.
