The Role – SEND Teaching Assistant

Location:

Hob Moor Oaks SEN Primary School, York (Through Vision for Education)

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (term time only)

Start Date:

ASAP – Immediate starts available

Contract:

Full time preferred, part time considered

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll be supporting children aged 2–11 with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties.

Responsibilities include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support
Aiding communication and classroom engagement
Supporting mobility and physical needs
Delivering personal care respectfully and sensitively
Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide a nurturing environment

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in care or support work (children or adults)
A compassionate and resilient nature
Confidence in providing personal care when needed
Ability to commit to the school’s working hours
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Able to provide references, and proof of right to work and address
