The hours of work will be mainly between the hours of 7.30am and 6.30pm to cover mornings and late afternoons/early evenings. The role requires some flexibility to allow for school events in the evening such as Christmas Fairs. Confirmation of hours will be discussed at the interview.

About the rolePark Grove Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Site Manger to work within their maintenance team. The hours for this position are 37 hours per week, please note this is not a term time only position, this role is across the full year.
As a Site Manager, you will ensure that the school’s buildings and grounds are in proper working order, maintaining a safe working environment for all users of the facility. Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs and reporting any faults which require specialist help, you will maintain the grounds and ensure the premises are clean and rubbish is collected. You will supervise duties around the school buildings, including cleaning staff and other site team members.
The role also involves being responsible for the security of the buildings, carrying out security checks and ensuring all fire safety and health and safety regulations are adhered to.
Day to day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- coordinating site tasks
- key holder responsibilities including opening and locking the school
- small DIY jobs around the school
- maintaining the integrity of the school perimeters and buildings
- emptying waste bins
- updating relevant records for statutory compliance and operational checks

The job requirementsWe are looking for someone who has good general knowledge of health and safety, practical basic DIY skills and a knowledge of the basic maintenance required for school premises. With a good level of practical skills in areas such as buildings and grounds maintenance, manual handling techniques, safe use of power tools and electrical safety, you will also have an understanding of, and a commitment to, the safeguarding of children.
You will be a flexible person who can work to deadlines using your own initiative, you will be able to communicate well with school staff, children, contractors and visitors.
