Role Overview
We are seeking an outstanding Physics teacher to join our dynamic science department and inspire students across our science courses.
Responsibilities- Deliver lessons in modern physics laboratories, including practical skill development alongside theory.
- Collaborate closely with the wider science team and the mathematics team.
- Teach a wide range of courses – A Level, T Level, Access to higher education, HND and apprenticeships – for students aged 16‑19, adults and apprentices.
- Support other areas of the science curriculum, including science data skills.
- Work with a specialist physics technician to support practical activities.
- Physics or related degree qualification.
- Appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed/PGCE). Candidates without a teaching qualification may be considered if they have suitable alternative experience in industry or higher education and may be supported to obtain a qualification.
- Experience or willingness to start after Easter (flexible).
- Hours:
37 hours per week (1.0 fte). - Salary:
Up to £43,408 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications). - 57 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures).
- Generous Occupational Pension Scheme.
- Financial support towards teacher training course fees (up to £7,000 over two years) if you do not hold a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification.
- Progression beyond point 12 of the salary scale (£40,407) possible if obtaining QTLS.
- Eligible ATS staff can receive an enhanced salary of £44,875.
