Hours:

18.5 hours per week
Salary: £33,643 to £36,938 pro rata per annum. Plus generous benefits including:

About the role

Are you passionate about supporting students with specific learning difficulties to achieve their full potential?

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Learning Support Assessor to join our Additional Learning Support team. In this specialist role, you will:

  • Conduct specialist teacher assessments, particularly for students with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group support sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching teams and external agencies to ensure effective support strategies are in place.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with JCQ standards for exam access arrangements.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and play an active role in safeguarding students with additional learning needs.

About the person

You are a dedicated and knowledgeable professional with:

  • Experience supporting students with specific learning difficulties in post-16 education, including conducting exam access arrangement assessments.
  • Qualifications including a Level 7 qualification in specialist teaching and assessment for specific learning difficulties (SpLD).
  • Skills in adapting teaching materials, maintaining detailed records, and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Attributes such as empathy, flexibility, and a strong commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.

We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
