SEMH Teaching Assistants

Teacher Active are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work on a day‑to‑day, short‑term and long‑term basis in SEMH/SEND schools based around the West Midlands. We are looking for people who have experience working with challenging students and are seeking a slight career change into a school environment.

The school is requiring extra staff due to increased student referrals, which means they need additional staff to work 1:1 and provide general classroom help.

• Support pupils out of the classroom with pastoral and personal development.
• Manage the behaviour of pupils sent out of class, freeing up other TAs.
• Patrol the school while working with pupils not in class, for whatever reason.

• Previous experience working with teenagers.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Team‑player attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work.
• Experience with in an SEMH school or setting.

• A great rate of pay.
• Sufficient time to plan and prepare lessons.
