GSL Education are calling for a committed Primary Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Sheffield (S2), supporting across KS2 classrooms on a long-term basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or experienced support staff who are passionate about working with children and looking to build a career in education. You will work closely with class teachers to support learning, deliver interventions, and help pupils stay engaged and confident in the classroom.
About the roleAs a Primary TA, you will play an important role in supporting KS2 pupils with their learning, both in whole-class settings and through targeted small group or 1:1 support. You will help reinforce learning objectives, promote positive behaviour, and contribute to a supportive school environment.
Key responsibilities of Primary TA- Support teaching and learning across KS2 classrooms
- Provide one-to-one and small group intervention support
- Assist pupils in understanding tasks and completing classwork
- Help maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Support teachers with preparation of learning materials
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and engagement
- Experience working with children or young people (school-based or similar)
- Graduates or experienced Teaching Assistants welcome to apply
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant recent references
- Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
