Polaris Education - Barraclough Hall School

Contract:

12 month fixed term, part‑time, term time only. Position available for 2 days a week, Wednesday and Friday. Salary ranges from £21,257.48 to £23,232.69 (pro‑rated £12,754.48 to £13,938.62).

About the School

Located in Huddersfield, the school provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 7 to 18. With significant investment and new resources, the school supports engagement and achievement. Role Responsibilities
  • Support one pupil or a small group (maximum six)
  • Support the classroom teacher during lessons
  • Report on progress and concerns, liaising with school staff
  • Supervise pupils during non‑classroom activities and trips
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation
  • Set work and mark where appropriate
  • Build positive relationships and support learning outcomes
Requirements
  • Strong basic education (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT skills
  • Experience in a similar role (teaching assistant desirable)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • Ability to take responsibility for areas such as food hygiene, forest school or activities
  • Experience of behaviour management
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
