Inclusion Support Worker (to support student learning)

Brayton Academy, Foxhill Lane, Selby, North Yorkshire, YO8 8LU

Pay Scale: SCP 7 - 11 (£26,403 - £28,142 per annum) FTE

Actual Salary: £19,631 - £20,925 per annum

Hours: 32.5 Hours per week. Term time only.

Contract: Permanent

Start date: ASAP

We are looking for an inspiring and ambitious Inclusion Support Worker (ISW) to join our skilled and effective team. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children with additional needs and will be working closely with our students to ensure learning can be accessed.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with students with additional needs to ensure learning can be accessed.
  • Facilitate the learning and progress of students.
  • Help students overcome barriers to learning and raise education attainment.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 or equivalent in English and Maths, have relevant experience of working with students, and will have a sound understanding of how to support and facilitate the learning and progress of students.

In addition, if you are considering a route into teaching, this role is a perfect way to gain experience. With the appropriate qualifications, you could then go on to apply to train to teach with us on our exciting 1-year programme through the School Direct initiative in partnership with Leeds Trinity University and Leeds Beckett University.
