GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are inviting applications from History Teachers to join schools in Wakefield WF12
. The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, a creative approach to teaching, and the ability to encourage students to explore the past while developing critical thinking and analytical skills.

The History Teacher will play a key role in helping students understand historical events, evaluate evidence, and appreciate how the past continues to shape the modern world.

• Deliver engaging History lessons that inspire curiosity and academic achievement
• Encourage students to analyze historical sources and develop independent thinking
• Plan lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment where discussion and debate are encouraged
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and departmental success

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting is desirable
• Secure knowledge of the History curriculum and effective teaching strategies
• Ability to motivate learners through engaging and well-structured lessons
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
