Position: Academic Tutor - Psychology (Neuroscience)
Location: South Yorkshire

Location: Sheffield, The University of Sheffield International College

Contract Type: Part Time (22.5 hours)

Salary: £25,070 - Salary is pro rata 0.6

FTE of £41,784 Per Annum

We are seeking an academic tutor to teach Neuroscience for Psychology in our International Year 1 Psychology course and support teaching on other related modules.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Level 3 and 4 modules delivered to groups of international students.
  • Coordinate modules, including leading teaching teams and carrying out Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Develop formative and summative assessments and mark a variety of assessments, providing feedback to students.
  • Use IT skills related to teaching, including Virtual Learning Environments.
  • Work flexibly as part of a busy team, contribute in meetings, communicate effectively with colleagues, and meet deadlines.
Qualifications – Essential
  • PhD or Master's degree in a relevant subject.
  • Experience teaching and marking assessments in Psychology or a related field in UK Higher Education, Further Education, Sixth Form or equivalent.
  • Ability to provide cross-disciplinary teaching support in related modules (e.g., Biology or Chemistry).
  • Advanced ability to navigate Virtual Learning Environments.
  • Strong competence in using IT tools for teaching and administration.
Qualifications – Desirable
  • Experience writing assessments at FHEQ level 3 (A-level), level 4 (first year of UG), or equivalent.
  • Experience in module coordination or equivalent.
  • Experience identifying and implementing module enhancement needs and opportunities.
  • Experience working with international students.
