37 hours per week (1.0 fte). Salary: £47,740 per annum. Plus generous benefits including:

About the role

From the 2026‑27 academic year our GCSE English provision will be integrated within curriculum areas. Reporting to the Head of GCSE, the newly created role of Curriculum Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and improving the delivery of English qualifications at Level 2 and below across the College, including GCSE and Functional Skills provision for both young people and adults.

You will develop high‑quality schemes of learning for GCSE English tutors and provide them with impactful teaching materials. You will also teach up to 420 hours of English every year (approximately 12 hours per week), including small‑group intervention work.

Responsibilities

Develop curriculum and learning materials for GCSE English for tutors.

Deliver classroom instruction (approximately 12 hours per week) and provide intervention support.

Coordinate and improve delivery of English qualifications and ensure high‑quality teaching and learning.

Qualifications

Strong administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Highly successful practitioner with a recent or current track record of high‑quality teaching with high success rates; relevant degree or professional qualification, and a level 5 (or above) teaching qualification.

Proven experience of teaching English at GCSE level, ideally within a further education environment, confident in delivering the GCSE curriculum and preparing learners for examinations.
