Children's Home Deputy Manager – Sheffield

Salary: £33,904 per annum
Location: Sheffield, S36
Hours: Full-time | 174 hours per month | Shift work, admin, on-call and sleep-ins

• Full support from the Registered Manager, Responsible Individual and experienced senior leadership

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it
• Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards where appropriate
• Experience as a Senior Residential Care Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager within a children's home or supported accommodation setting
• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, compliance and quality standards
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Empathy, patience and a child-centred approach
• Full UK driving licence
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

• Support and deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
• Provide strong leadership, supervision and guidance to the staff team
• Promote teamwork, professional development and high-quality child-centred care
• Oversee the day-to-day operation, safety, maintenance and resources of the home
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, legislation, policies and quality standards
• Support inspections, audits and regulatory requirements
• Safeguard young people and promote their wellbeing, development and positive outcomes
• Oversee assessments, care plans, progress monitoring and responses to critical incidents
• Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and promote positive relationship skills
• Identify staff training needs and support development, supervision and performance
• Assist with recruitment, staffing levels and rota planning
• Implement quality assurance systems and drive continuous improvement
• Support and lead Regulation 44 visits when required, responding appropriately to recommendations
• Assist with budget management, expenditure and effective resource allocation
• Develop positive relationships with local authorities, professionals, community organisations and other stakeholders
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, record keeping and regulatory compliance
