GCSE Maths Teacher

Tutorfox is looking for qualified, experienced teachers to join our growing group learning provision in York, delivering high-quality, small-group teaching to pupils preparing for key academic examinations.

Tutorfox provides academic support to learners from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 5, specialising in Maths, English and Science.

We are currently looking for qualified teachers to deliver in-person weekly lessons in the following areas:

• GCSE Mathematics
• GCSE Science
• Primary Year 6 Mathematics

Teaching takes place in small groups of no more than six pupils, allowing teachers to deliver structured, engaging sessions and respond effectively to pupils’ learning needs.

• Competitive rates: £40–£60 per teaching hour, depending on group size and teaching experience.
• Flexible commitment: Typically 1–5 hours per week, arranged around existing professional commitments.
• Consistent teaching: Regular weekly sessions during term time, with opportunities for additional teaching during school holidays, particularly around examination periods.
• Focused teaching environment: Small groups that enable meaningful engagement with pupils and their academic progress.

We welcome expressions of interest from teachers who have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, relevant and up-to-date subject knowledge, and experience teaching the appropriate age group and subject.

Candidates should be confident communicators, demonstrate sound teaching practice and bring a professional, reliable and encouraging approach. An enhanced DBS certificate is required, or candidates must be willing to obtain one before commencing teaching.
