You'll combine hands-on teaching with a coaching and mentoring role, helping tutors develop their practice while ensuring learners make strong, sustained progress.

Reporting to the Regional Head, you'll work across teaching and support, administration, and leadership collaboration, helping to embed consistently high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing in-class support and interventions tailored to individual learning needs.

  • Planning and delivering curriculum tailored to individual learners.

  • Modelling and sharing best practice with tutors through mentoring and coaching.

  • Leading CPD programmes to support continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment.

  • Conducting lesson observations and providing constructive feedback to support effective, creative teaching strategies.

  • Establishing and maintaining systems to track and monitor student progress, attainment and engagement.

  • Using data to identify trends, gaps in learning and areas for improvement.

  • Implementing strategies to improve student outcomes and ensure significant learner progress.

  • Managing exam entries in line with awarding body requirements.

  • Collaborating with the Regional Head to set strategic teaching, learning and assessment priorities.

  • Leading initiatives to embed best practice across the provision.

What We're Looking For Essential:
  • Experience teaching functional skills, ideally across a range of levels

  • Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting other tutors to develop their practice

  • Confidence conducting lesson observations and giving constructive feedback

  • Strong skills in tracking, analysing and acting on learner progress data

  • Experience managing exam entries and awarding body compliance

Desirable (but not essential):
  • Experience working within a similar coordinator, mentor or quality-focused role

  • Experience setting or contributing to strategic teaching and learning priorities
