Senior Estimator

Zinc Consult is currently looking for a senior estimator for our rail infrastructure team based in York, the successful candidate will support our project teams and will undertake large and complex cost planning, quantification, pre-contract estimates and post-contract commercial reviews on a major rail framework.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
 
* Working with the project teams to deliver accurate estimations for large and complex programmes.
 
* Controlling and managing the estimating process at project level
 
* Applying and using recognised, appropriate method of measurement rules (eg RMM) in the preparation of all estimates
 
* Supporting client procurement teams with tender and/or contract price analysis and reference to baseline and revised estimates
Requirements:
 
* Experience in Pre- and post-contract estimating.
 
* BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
 
* Rail/Civils experience
 
* Minimum of 5 years experience in technical delivery of UK rail projects.
 
* Understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes
 
* Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
