Job Description
1st Select is working with a market‑leading and rapidly growing consultancy that is seeking a Senior/Associate Chartered Building Surveyor to join its team, operating from one of its key office locations:
Hull, Leeds, York or Sheffield. - Lead and manage building surveying projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Undertake dilapidation surveys and provide clients with strategic advice concerning obligations and liabilities.
- Prepare and review detailed reports, specifications, and schedules of work in compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors and other stakeholders to deliver practical and efficient solutions.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior colleagues, encouraging their professional development.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, regulations and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
- Support business development efforts, identifying opportunities for growth and contributing to the firm’s strong market reputation.
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) status is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building surveying, with a solid focus on dilapidations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities with a record of successful project delivery.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and digital reporting tools.
