We have an exciting opportunity for a
Transport Planning Apprentice to join our team. This is your chance to gain real-world experience while helping create safer, more sustainable and better-connected communities.
In this role, you’ll support the assessment of new development proposals, looking at how they affect roads, safety and accessibility. You’ll play a part in promoting sustainable travel options such as walking, cycling and public transport—making a real difference to people’s everyday lives.
Alongside your work, you’ll study towards the
Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship at Leeds College of Building
, fully funded by the Council—so you can earn while you learn.
On successful completion, you’ll be eligible for professional recognition as a
Transport Planning Technician (TPTech/MTPS) or Engineering Technician (Eng Tech/MCIHT), giving you a strong foundation for a long-term career in transport planning.
- Supporting transport input into planning applications
- Assisting with road safety, traffic impact and accessibility work
- Promoting sustainable and active travel options
- Learning from experienced professionals and building technical skills
- Interested in transport, planning or the built environment
- Good communication and numeracy skills
- Enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn
- 5 GCSEs (grades 9–4), including English, Maths and Science (or equivalent)
- Fully funded apprenticeship with a recognised qualification
