Leeds, West Yorkshire. Salary: £28000 - £32000 per annum + pension, professional fees etc.

THE ROLE

Assist in providing geotechnical solutions across a wide range of projects including those in the RAIL and CONSTRUCTION sectors.

  • Ground modelling, geotechnical design and risk assessment
  • Work closely with other engineering departments
  • Desk studies, interpretive reports and geotechnical deliverables
  • Develop knowledge in earthworks, drilling & grouting techniques, contaminated land legislation and relevant design standards
  • Support project management duties: programme and budget control, supervision and coordination of ground investigation works
  • Preparation of fee proposals, tenders and technical submissions
THE CANDIDATE
  • Appropriate Degree in Geology or similar
  • MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous
  • One to three years of experience with a good understanding of geology, ground investigation methods and geotechnical engineering principles
  • At least one year of experience on Rail or Construction sector projects, including earthworks inspections and reporting
  • Experience producing geotechnical reports, including Geotechnical Interpretative Reports and Mining Risk Assessments
  • Experience in ground investigation planning, specification, supervision and interpretative reporting
  • Experience in specification and design of earthworks and geotechnical solutions
  • Full UK driving licence to travel to sites as required
  • Keenness to work towards becoming chartered, with good support provided
