Overview

The Opportunity

Based in Leeds or Sheffield and working with teams across the UK and beyond, you will be part of a dynamic team delivering on diverse projects across sectors. You will have the opportunity to train and further develop your domain skills in BIM and Digital.

Reporting to the MEP BIM Manager and Senior Technicians, you will contribute to high-quality Building Information Models within a multi-disciplinary BIM team. The package is competitive and includes profit sharing. Arup supports career and training paths for Technicians and those in Leadership roles, with hybrid working to offer flexibility.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with setup and model management of project models in accordance with project standards.
  • Support the MEP team in producing high-quality, data-rich 3D models and drawings, modelling a range of MEP services (e.g., mechanical pipework, ventilation, lighting, power, containment, drainage).
  • Take responsibility for specific aspects of BIM delivery and drawing packages from concept through to completion.
  • Coordinate all MEP services elements with Architecture and Structural teams, both internally and externally, ensuring spacing for access, maintenance and buildability within project scope and tolerances. Use tools such as Revit, Navis, Revizto+, ACC/Forma, BIM
    360, BIMCollab as appropriate.
  • Mentor apprentices working within the BIM environment and use Common Data Environments and collaboration platforms (e.g., ACC/Forma, BIM
    360).
  • Seek pragmatic digital solutions to improve working practices and support technical delivery using Revit; work toward BIM delivery in accordance with ISO 19650.
  • Engage with Senior Technicians and team members to support the development of the Building Engineering group.
Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • BTEC ONC / HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent BIM qualification. Eng Tech qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience with in the building services industry (consultancy and/or contractor).
  • Strong understanding of model and drawing production using Revit MEP (minimum 4 years).
  • Knowledge of EIRs and BEPs, interpretation and implementation.
  • Aware of using Navis/ACC for reviews, visual audits and clash detection.
  • Experience in producing drawings and models with limited input from engineers, developing outputs from sketches.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems, routing, and coordination to a design level of detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to co-professionals, contractors and clients; proven team collaboration skills; ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects.

Desirable

  • Experience with ACC/Forma, BIM
    360 collaboration tools.
  • Understanding of how building services are coordinated and installed to a construction level of detail.
  • Familiarity with BS EN ISO 19650 standards and a range of sector experience.
  • Revit family creation and maintenance (data exchange).
