A respected and long-established Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Structural Engineer to join its thriving South Leeds office. With an enviable reputation built over decades, the business delivers technically challenging projects across the commercial, industrial, residential, education, healthcare, energy and infrastructure sectors, combining engineering excellence with a pragmatic and collaborative approach.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers at all levels.
• Lead the design, review, and delivery of complex structural engineering projects from initial feasibility through to completion.
• Oversee calculations, reports, and design outputs, ensuring delivery to the highest technical standards while remaining commercially focused and buildable.
• Work closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to provide practical engineering solutions that balance innovation with efficiency.
• Serve as a senior point of contact for both clients and colleagues.
• Support Directors in managing project workloads, reviewing designs, developing engineering standards, and mentoring engineers.

• Chartered status or approaching chartership.
• Significant consultancy experience delivering building structure projects across multiple sectors.
• Proven ability to lead projects, review complex structural designs, and build lasting client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and effective communication skills.
