We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join their Engineering team in Doncaster
. Whether your background is mechanically or electrically biased, you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
- £45,615 annual salary (including 15% shift allowance)
- 38-hour working week
- Rotating 3-shift pattern:
- Monday - Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am
- Friday: 6am-12pm / 12pm-6pm / 6pm-12am
- 26 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- An additional day's holiday after 5 years' service
- Buy or sell up to 5 days' holiday after your first full year
- 7.5% employer pension contribution
- Ongoing training and career development
- No travel to other sites – you'll be based at the Doncaster site
The Role as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
, you'll ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding quickly to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement projects.
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Maintaining conveyors, elevators, palletisers, packaging equipment and other production machinery.
- Installing, servicing and modifying mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
- Working closely with Production teams to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Completing maintenance records and ensuring all work complies with health, safety and quality standards.
We're looking for candidates with:
- A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification (BTEC, ONC or equivalent).
- Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
, Electrical Maintenance Engineer
, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
, Maintenance Engineer or similar. - Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced production environment.
- Experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, conveyors, packaging machinery or automated production equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
