Tendering Engineer

I'm working with an established electrical engineering business looking to add a Tendering & Design Engineer to their team, supporting projects across power distribution, LV switch gear, package substations and EV charging infrastructure.

This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys the crossover between technical design and the commercial/tendering side of engineering.

• Reviewing customer specifications and developing technically compliant solutions
• Producing GA drawings, schematics and electrical designs
• Supporting tenders from initial enquiry through to technical submission
• Equipment selection and configuration
• Supporting costing, value engineering and technical clarifications
• Working across LV switch gear, substations and EV infrastructure
• Liaising with customers as well as internal Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing and Project teams
• Supporting projects through the tender and preliminary design stages

You'll ideally have experience as a Tendering Engineer, Design Engineer, Applications Engineer, Proposals Engineer or similar within the electrical/power sector.

You'll need experience interpreting electrical specifications and drawings, alongside a good working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Experience with Siemens NX, product configuration software or Dynamics 365 would be useful but isn't essential.

You'll be joining an established engineering business with a strong presence within the power sector, while getting exposure to both traditional electrical distribution and the rapidly growing EV infrastructure market.

The position offers hybrid working and the opportunity to work across the full front end of projects – from understanding the customer's requirement through to developing the technical solution that ultimately gets manufactured and delivered.
