Head of Finance​/Finance Director Designate

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the formation of business strategy, driving financial performance and leading the finance function through its next phase of growth. This is far more than a reporting role. You'll be supporting the Senior Leadership Team with commercial decisions, challenge thinking, improve performance and help guide the future direction of the business.

The role will have responsibility for day to day management of the full Finance Team as well as development/improvement of the Team and its processes.

As Head of Finance, you'll lead the finance function and provide strategic financial leadership across the business. You'll work closely with operational and commercial teams, helping to improve profitability, strengthen financial controls and support long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the Finance Team and leading personal and process development.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning
• Delivering meaningful financial insight to the Board and senior leadership team
• Driving profitability, margin improvement and commercial performance
• Leading monthly management reporting and KPI analysis
• Managing cashflow, treasury and working capital
• Supporting investment decisions and business growth initiatives
• Maintaining robust financial controls and governance
• Overseeing statutory reporting, audit and compliance activities
• Developing and mentoring the finance team
• Driving continuous improvement across finance systems and processes

You'll bring:

• Experience leading and developing finance teams
• Strong commercial and operational finance experience
• The ability to influence and challenge at senior leadership level

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A track record of improving performance and supporting business growth

Experience with in manufacturing, food production, FMCG or a similarly operational environment would be advantageous. Applications are welcomed from qualified accountants including ACA, ACCA and CIMA, alongside candidates who can demonstrate equivalent senior finance leadership capability.
