Finance Manager

KCR Solutions are supporting this successful SME in their search for a Finance Manager. You will take full responsibility for the finance function in a true standalone role. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day financial operations whilst also managing the finance requirements of a smaller business within the Group. This opportunity would suit a self-motivated, resilient finance professional who enjoys owning the complete finance cycle, improving processes, supporting operational decision-making, and working independently.

Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts. Produce monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls. Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning. Support year-end accounts preparation and external auditors. Manage the full purchase ledger process including invoice processing and payment runs. Oversee sales ledger, customer invoicing and credit control activities.

Reconcile bank accounts and monitor daily cash balances. Maintain fixed asset registers and financial records. Process monthly payroll for approximately: 20 employees and 10 subcontractors Process payroll requirements for the flooring business. Administer pension contributions and payroll reporting. Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and submissions. Verify subcontractors and maintain accurate CIS records. Prepare and submit monthly CIS returns. Calculate and process CIS deductions.

Prepare and submit VAT returns. Maintain accurate accounting records across both businesses. Monitor and manage cash flow requirements. Provide analysis on project profitability and business performance. Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced controls. Person Specification Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance position. Experience managing a complete finance function independently. Strong understanding of month-end and year-end processes.

Experience managing cash flow and providing financial analysis. Personal Attributes Highly resilient and comfortable working autonomously. Self-motivated with a proactive approach. Takes ownership and accountability for results. Enjoys working across the full finance remit, from transactional processing to management reporting. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Experience with in construction, contracting or project-based businesses.

Experience of working within an SME environment. This role would suit an experienced finance professional who thrives in a standalone environment and enjoys being responsible for every aspect of finance, from invoice processing through to management accounts and strategic business support.
