Finatal is exclusively partnering with a highly successful private equity-backed consulting business based in West Yorkshire to appoint a Financial Controller.

With revenues of approximately £60m, EBITDA exceeding 10% and continuing to strengthen, and a clear value creation agenda in place, the business has established itself as a market leader within its sector. Backed by an ambitious investor group, the company continues to experience strong organic growth alongside an active acquisition strategy, with a long-term objective of delivering a successful exit.

This appointment represents an opportunity for an ambitious and technically strong finance leader to become the CFO's trusted number two and play a key role in the next phase of growth.

The Financial Controller will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, reporting accuracy and continual process improvement across the business.

Operating at the centre of the organisation, the successful candidate will act as a genuine business partner to both the CFO and wider leadership team, helping drive commercial decision-making, supporting growth initiatives and ensuring the finance function can scale alongside the business.

This is a highly visible position offering significant exposure to strategic projects, acquisitions, operational improvement programmes and investor requirements.

• Lead and develop the finance team, driving performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Own the month-end close process and ensure accurate, timely management reporting.
• Maintain strong financial controls, governance and compliance across the organisation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes.
• Partner closely with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business.
• Provide insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making and value creation initiatives.
• Support acquisition activity, integrations and wider finance transformation projects as required.
• Act as a trusted deputy to the CFO and help shape the future direction of the finance function.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong technical finance background and experience operating within a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Whilst sector experience is not essential, candidates will ideally have exposure to private equity-backed, high-growth, acquisitive or change-driven organisations where commerciality, pace and adaptability are critical.
