Key responsibilities of the role include:
You will conduct research on police systems to allow you to process requests to comply with the Forces obligations under the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act and Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. You will also help improve how the service works day to day. Logging, processing and responding to FOI, Subject Access and PVG requests. Searching police systems for relevant information to these requests.
Helping to improve processes, templates, and guidance. Supporting training and development within the team. Prepare and publish information on the Freedom of Information publication scheme.
Essential Criteria
Experience of working with Freedom of Information, Subject Access legislation or PVG legislation is essential. Strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage workloads, deadlines, and competing priorities. Confidence in making decisions and explaining them clearly. A calm and professional approach, especially with sensitive information.
