Job Description & How to Apply Below

Aurora Lifesciences is recruiting for a Microbiology Laboratory Specialist to join a exciting medical device manufacturing site in Yorkshire.

This is a hands-on microbiology position, ideal for someone who enjoys practical laboratory work alongside quality, investigation and validation activities. If you are graduate with practical experience you are also encouraged to apply.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience across areas such as:

  • Agar preparation, plating and incubation
  • Bioburden and biocontamination control
  • Controlled environment / cleanroom monitoring
  • Microbiological testing of manufacturing solutions
  • Sample preparation and laboratory testing
  • Endotoxin testing / coordination
  • Microbiology method development, qualification and transfer
  • Laboratory equipment calibration and qualification
  • Sterilisation activities including steam and gamma
  • Stability / shelf-life studies
  • Deviations and Out of Specification (OOS) investigations
  • Root cause analysis and CAPA
  • Microbiological trending and data review
  • Good Documentation Practice and data integrity

You’ll work closely with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, supporting the site’s contamination control programme and ensuring microbiology activities are completed in line with regulatory and quality requirements.

Ideally, you’ll have a Microbiology, Biology, Biomedical Science or related degree and experience working within a medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other regulated laboratory environment.

Experience with ISO 14698, ISO 13485, GMP/cGMP or cleanroom microbiology would be particularly valuable.

This could suit a Microbiology Analyst, QC Microbiologist, Microbiology Scientist, Laboratory Analyst or Laboratory Technician looking to take on a broader role within a growing regulated manufacturing environment.
